All of you, yes you, the fans out there must have been on this site a million times by now (as you can see by the hits) but theres always one question that always gets put on me when im seen in the streets as I'm quite a celebrity now anyway the question is always in one form or another "how did this whole NUTD start off Daanyaal our great captain who shall lead us to victory" but obviously, being the block booked man that i am with TV adverts etc... i have no time to answer this popular question. However i have now decided to reveal the answer on the NUTD website.
NUTD goes way back, so far back that it actually goes back to 1967. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you 1967. It all started off with the eldest of the Chairmans sons Mr Maqbul Mama Nurgat who wore the number 11 shirt worn by the great captain today. Mr Maqbul used to gather around with his friends at the age of 15 kicking the ball around with jumpers for goalposts and they then used to have matches with their other local clubs. They then decided to enter tournaments etc... but sadly never one until 1969 winning Mt Pleasant by 20 goals to 18 a truly competitive game.
By 1970 Mr Maqbul had retired and then handed over his captaincy role to Mr Shahid Nurgat with his most tremendous skill. However when Mr Maqbul left, his other team-mates thought that the team was nothing without him so they all went their own way. How very wrong they were.
1970 marked a new era in the NUTD camp as Mr Shahid then had to recruit a whole new squad of players without even a manager. When we look back at his decision today though we can see why he succeeded Mr Maqbul in the role of captain as he immediately picked Idris and Ilyas to join him and together they managed to scout what now seems to be the strongest NUTD squad ever.
Even greater news arrived to the camp the following month as captain Shahid was told that a line of managers wanted to see him to ask if they could acquire the open vacancy of NUTD manager. As it turns out though all the managers did not seem to impress Mr Shahid, all except one. This manager now looks like the 2nd greatest manager in the clubs history being beaten by the one and only Mr Idris Mama of today. This manager was Molana Shoyaib Nurgat.
1971 saw NUTD load up the gallery of trophies as the tremendously talented trio, as they were call then, Ilyas, Shahid and Idris mama's broke the record of scoring the most goals in one season.
All good teams have to end though and NUTD was no different, just before the next season a serious injury ruled out all three as some Mt Players jumped them on their way home from the match against Dark lane when they won 15 - 4. That match was the last anyone had ever seen of NUTD for 35 years. Yes, it was a long rest but the tremendous trio were no more now. Now they were the tired and tasteless trio.
However 2 years ago Idris Nurgat emerged from the rest and decided to take the pathetic bunch that was us and turn them into champions like they once were. He said he wanted us to take revenge on Mt for the time they got beaten up. Sadly we lost 12-6 that day. However we are always improving and hopefully we'll win that trophy for the Gaffer.
